THE ARTIST — The Studio (Chapters 4 & 5)

THE ARTIST — The Studio (Chapters 4 & 5)

Opening

Rhett arrives at the lake house unexpectedly while Severin is painting.

Paint still marks her hands.

Music drifts through the studio.

Afternoon light fills the house.

For the first time, he steps inside the world where her paintings begin.

What starts as an ordinary afternoon quickly becomes something far more intimate.

The distance that has been narrowing since the gallery disappears altogether as conversation gives way to lingering touches, quiet honesty, and the first time neither of them can ignore what has been building between them.

But when the moment asks for more…

Rhett makes a different choice.

One that leaves Severin understanding him even more deeply than before.

From the Chapter

“Not just the studio.”

His gaze moved over her slowly.

The oversized shirt.

The bare legs beneath it.

The paint on her hands.

The streak near her jaw.

“You in it.”

The look that followed.

Slow.

Unhurried.

Dangerously thorough.

The Moment

The Studio was only the beginning.

The afternoon carries them further than either of them has allowed before.

Desire finally replaces distance.

Every touch asks for more.

Every kiss deepens it.

Everything between them says keep going.

Then Rhett stops.

Not because the moment has ended.

Because he wants more than a single afternoon can hold.

Severin understands immediately.

She doesn’t question him.

She doesn’t doubt him.

She knows exactly what his restraint is promising.

And somehow…

wanting more becomes even more irresistible.

The Artist — Chapter Six

The studio was only one afternoon.

Rhett is not finished showing Severin what it feels like to be chosen deliberately.

The next chapter takes them somewhere new.

And the story continues.
