THE ARTIST — Gallery Opening (Chapter 1)

THE ARTIST — Gallery Opening (Chapter 1)

Opening

Every story begins somewhere.

For The Artist, it begins beneath gallery lights.

Collectors move quietly between paintings.

Champagne catches the last light of evening.

Music drifts through the room.

Severin stands surrounded by the life she has built—her work, her success, the atmosphere she has created.

She isn’t looking for anyone.

Then the room changes.

Not loudly.

Not dramatically.

Quietly.

And before the night is over, she’ll meet the man who will become impossible to forget.

From the Chapter

“I’ve spent twenty minutes trying to look at the paintings,” he said quietly. “You’ve made that impossible.”

Severin lifted the champagne slowly to her lips, refusing to react to the heat moving low in her stomach.

He noticed anyway.

The Moment

Gallery Opening isn’t about a first meeting.

It’s about recognition.

Two people who immediately sense something has shifted, even before either of them understands where it will lead.

The evening begins surrounded by art.

It ends with neither of them thinking about the paintings anymore.
